a note from the builder -
Based on a lifetime of riding and many years building frames with other brands, I founded Orchard Bicycle as a frame-builder owned business in 2023.
Cycling and making things have been my lifelong passions. They’ve fueled my journey of skills building and personal growth; through rides, races, classes, apprenticeships, and professional positions. I also love seeing how others work. I’ve visited factories and frame-builders for decades. Each one - regardless of experience level, professional status, or volume of frames produced - has something valuable to share. I’ve learned from each, and this body of knowledge, combined with a my life of riding, finds its way into my own work.
For Orchard Bicycle, this means attention to detail and the big picture. This means taking time for soft skills, like clear and open communication, as well as well as the skills of frame-building. This means combining quality materials with time-proven techniques, mindful consideration of environmental impact, and selecting components from like-minded industry partners.
Most importantly, this means every customer gets a bike that’s fun to ride, easy to service, nice to look at, and something we can both be proud of.
